Prof. Tariq Obaide Appointed OBE for Services to British Education Overseas and UK–Morocco Relations
Prof. Tariq Obaide has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours Overseas and International List for services to British education overseas and UK–Morocco relations.
This prestigious honour recognises Prof. Obaide’s outstanding contribution to expanding British education internationally and his prominent role in strengthening ties between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Morocco.
Since founding the British Education Group in 2001, Prof. Obaide has led the organisation to become a pioneer and leading provider of British education in Morocco.
Under his leadership, the Group has supported more than 5,000 students in achieving British honours degrees from a number of respected UK universities, helping to widen access to internationally recognised qualifications.
“I am deeply humbled and incredibly honoured to receive this recognition from His Majesty King Charles III,” said Prof. Tariq Obaide OBE.
